Is Nimba County Really Responsible for Liberia's Civil War?
- (Letter)
December 30 , 2004 - UNICCO
Digest (Letter)
I write in response to Honorable Superintendent Harrison
Karnwea's recent assertion apportioning blames for the Liberian civil crisis
on Nimba County. Had Harrison Karnwea, as an ordinary citizen of Liberia
accused Nimbaians of war-mongering, I would have left the matter die its
natural death and not give credence to his putrid declaration.

Nimba County Responsible?
December 28 , 2004 - UNICCO
Digest (Letter)
It was with confusion and disgust that I read the
news account of the
Superintendent of Nimba County laying the entire responsibility of the war
in Liberia at the feet of Nimbaians. I was confused because I somehow
thought Mr. Harrison Karnwea was an intelligent and well-rounded person.

June 23 , 2004 - UNICCO Digest (Letter)
There are thousands of Liberians at risk and are pessimistic of returning
and are not also respected by their host country, Guinea; most of whom were
given earlier provisional United States INS acceptance on the usual Family
Reunion Program and have subsequently been medically cleared and received
certificates of orientation to be resettled with their anchors from the
Ivory Coast to the US

ACTION NOW ; AN OPEN-LETTER TO LIBERIANS
June10, 2003
These are not ordinary times. The problems in Liberia are of serious concern.
It is no exaggeration to say the war in Liberia presents a clear and imminent
danger to everything that we as Liberians hold dear and consider just. These
constitute a menace to the existence of our Country, and the well being
of our people. People’s rights, livelihoods, and futures are at stake
at this time. This may sound ominous, but at the same time it should be
a cause for everyone to engage in actions to stop the war.
