Julius Gondoun Writes UNICCO
April 16, 2006 - UNICCO Digest
I have always taken keen interest in
the affairs and wellbeing of my dear Nimba County.
At the A.M.E. University in Monrovia
(where I received a Bachelors Degree in 2002), I served as Secretary General
and later President of the Nimba Student Association (NISA).
At one point, a general consensus was
met by citizens of Nimba County attending the various universities and colleges
in Liberia regarding the need to merge their various campus-based organization
under one umbrella. A committee was then set up by the Nimba County university
student community in Liberia to work on the constitution and by-laws that
would create such body and guide its functions and operations. I was elected
to serve as Chairman of the Constitution Committee, which successfully completed
its work and presented a formal report to citizens of Nimba County gathered
in the Joint Chamber at the Liberian Capitol Building where the meeting
took place.
I was also a founding member of the
United Nimba Citizens Council (Liberia Chapter), which was then headed by
Mr. Benedict Matadi.
Now that I am here in the United States,
I wish to become a member of UNICCO-USA. Thanks.
