Help Make "Project Quality Health Care" a Reality in Nimba County

Dear Mr. Editor:

My name is Amanda Tarpeh, a registerned nurse. I traveled to Liberia a year ago and made some assessments. Although there were many stricking things to the eyes, Health Care was my main focus. I observed that there were people who needed health care but were unable to afford the cost. For example, a pregnant woman in need of medical attention couldn't afford the cost of the hospital and even small clinics.

Malaria patients in Liberia do not have the opportunity to seek medical advice on how to treat the disease. Our children in Liberia do not have the advantage like those in America. They can't seek regular and wellness checkups. The opportunity to be vaccinated against childhood diseases is not available for dsieases such as measles, mumps, rubella.

With all these in mind, I realized that our health care delivery system in Liberia was very poor. My point is I have Liberia at heart and would like to help our people. I am planning to open a non profit clinic in Ganta, Liberia, where people in the vicinity can come and get treatment for little or nothing. In view of the foregoing, I am asking every Liberian here in the twin cities and beyond o contribute just a DOLLAR. If you have children and can afford this, please donate towards this cause.

Thanks in advance for helping make this dream a reality.
